What is the formula? Check the ingredients to find out how much protein, fat, and carbs it contains. In the long run, it’s less expensive to buy higher-quality premium food if you can. Here’s a great article about selecting the best diet for your pup…

Even though home made dog food is the best. some people can not and do not have time to do so. All I can tell you is that I have done hours of dog food research. I do make food for my dog some times. I do not feed any thing I could get from target, walmart, petco, petsmart, ect……
My favorit website that has helped me sooooooo much is http://www.dogfoodproject.com. I love this site. she keeps it up to date.

Good luck with your dog food quest. and don’t give up.

I have changed to butchers dog food after a recommendation from a friend, my dog suffered from dry skin and also very soft stools, since changing to butchers she now has a gleaming coat, hard stools and enjoys every mouthful, cannot recommend it enough, she is a staffie cross and people remark what a lovely shiny coat she has even the vet, so do give it a try, butchers only use good ingredients and always try their products on their or friends animals before putting it on the market, best food ever.
