Pedigree is not at all the best food you can feed your dog, however if you can’t afford a better food then grab a bag of iams or science diet.
To save money my husband and I switched our dog to pedigree. Personal reasons I left my job so we wanted to cut back where we could. We went to the pet store and bought blue buffalo again yesterday. Our dog has had nothing but problems since the switch. His coat is dull and starting to feel brittle not to mention he is having anal gland problems (which he never did before so my guess the food). I guess the jokes on us cause we didn’t really save money with the vet bills we got.
If you can afford a better food then do get one, but if you can’t I would go with iams or science diet.

Hill’s science plan is excellent for your dog’s system ( also their poo don’t smell as bad) and 2nd choice would be Royal Canine. Personally i would not feed my dog pedigree dog food, my vet told me you would be sick if you knew what went into it, good luck.

A great food for your dog if you are on a tight budget would be California Natural or Chicken Soup for the dog lover’s soul. They do NOT contain corn, wheat, and soy. No meat by-products and no Animal Fat.
If you are willing to pay $52.99 for a big bag of Science Diet, then just go with a higher quality of food like Wellness, Solid Gold, Merrick, Wysong…dont waste your money on crap.
The foods that contain all of the above are: Pedigreem Kibble N’ Bits, Science Diet, Iams, Eukanuba, Beneful, Alpo, Ol’ Roy…and anything at the grocery store or Walmart.
for more info look at http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com. They more stars the better quality. They list all the ingredients and then explain why they are good and bad. You will be shocked to know what’s in the dog food.
If you good then shouldnt your dog?
Good luck!

I have excellent luck with Blue Buffalo. It is pricey, but in the end, I have fewer vet bills. My dogs have shiny coats and do not shed. Their stools are solid and small.
