The best way to tell is to look at the ingrediants if it lists chicken or beef as the first ingrediant then its good. If it says anything else then NO it’s not good!

It’s not a “bad” food, but it is just filled with by products, which are not good for a dog. He wont get sick from it, but it is much healthier to give him “science diet” or “chicken soup for the puppy lovers soul”, these will give him healthier bone structure, healthier muscle and a healthier life all around.

Just find a dog food with no by-products and corn.

besides the fact that pretty much all foods at grocery and department stores are garbage, Pedigree just had a recall on a bunch of it’s foods.
search Pedigree or call the store you bought the food from to see if your food was included.
NOW!
Not tomorrow!

It’s not the worst but not the best either.
All those store brands have things in them that are not good for your dog such as soya, wheat and beet pulp. I switched my dog to hollistic food and he has lost weight and feels much better and it is not that much more expensive than the store brands.

I wouldn’t feed my chihuahua Perdigree or any other dog food that you can find in a grocery store. You should talk to your vet about a high-quality dog food. I still am trying to figure out what my chi should eat, I am presently trying Evo with her. Small dogs don’t eat much, so what they do eat should always be of the highest quality.

If you remember the dog food poisoning from a while back the only ones to my knowledge are Purina and pedigree that weren’t affected by the Chinese ingredients. I feed mine either or and i have never had any problems with either. If you would like to see what ones were affected by the recall then you can visit http://www.avma.org/aa/petfoodrecall/products.asp It has the list an by the list you can derive what you would like to feed your dog.

I agree with most of the other responses, grocery stores sell dog foods with lots of by-products and grains which are not really good for a dog’s health. I feed my dog Innova Evo and sometimes Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul. It’s a little more expensive but she doesn’t eat much and I feel like it’s healthier for her. Read about these two brands at the links below and I think it will help you decide….good luck with your puppy!

The puppy store I got my Toy poodle from said pedigree is the best for a puppy because it has ingredients to help him grow. Good luck
