The Menu Food is poisoned and I have a 5 month old pup that eats Pedigree. I know IAMS and other dog foods are poisoned and I wanted to go on the safe side. Please, if you know anything about it, tell me!

It is the food that comes in the pouches, and it is the wet food in gravy. Menu has a list on their web site so you can check it out there.
Check out the menu foods web site, they list most of the contributers, if you are still worried, can the 1-800 number on the Pedigree bag.
No, Pedigree is actually very healthy for dogs of all ages including puppys or senior dogs. And the plus side of Pedigree, everytime you purchase a bag you donate $15 to all those dogs who are abandoned. Way to go!
It wouldn’t be on the market if it was poisoned.
No, it is not, here is a list of contaminated dog foods.

I was not sure either, I watched the news tonight and that did not say the brands( How stupid of them) I know a lot of us pet owners are worried. I guess pedigree canned dog food is fine. I have five dogs and I feed them can dog food everyday, and I have one who has been sick so I was crapping my pants for a minute. I sure hope they don’t tell us in a couple of days that is poisoned to. But I think everything is ok with it.
I’m not all that sure myself, we had gotten our dog O’roy and took it back and bought Pedigree. But now we are going to play it safe until this is over and just put her on dry food and cook her up a little hamburger to satisfy her taste bud. Maybe just be safe and put your baby on dry food for now.
My 5 year old healthy, indoor lab/chow mix died Monday from kidney failure. We have been feeding her pedigree for quite some time, but a week ago ran out so we picked up a different kind of pedigree dry food from a nearby kroger. A week later she died. I started noticing symptoms Sat night, vomiting and diarreha. After researching her symptoms online most of the day on Sunday I come to the conclusion it was renal failure. Then I caught the 8 o clock news and saw the story. I thought this cannnot be a coincidence. We had her bloodwork done Monday morning at 9 and then she died at 2 pm. We got the bloodwork back later that day confirming my research, renal/kidney failure. She went from a perfectly healthy dog to this in 2 days. I’ve been trying to warn everyone I know with pets to not take the news as the truth.. they may not know the scope of the issue. We even tried to alret Fox news to get the word out. I am not sure what to believe, but she was perfectly healthy, always crated if I am not there, and only goes outside to use the bathroom and then wants back in.. thats how she was.. there are no toxins she could have gotten into………. when we got the results back from the vet he sd her BUN level was 125. He actually used the phrase “like she had gotten into rat poison or something of that nature” this is pissing me off. no one wants to listen.. everyone’s saying its just the wet food bc thats what they hear on tv. There are going to be more and more reported cases of dry food (PEDIGREE) being linked to this. But I cant get the word out on anything but yahoo answers. pedigree wont return calls, fda, fox news, no one.
Pedigree dog food is not part of this recall and is not made by menufoods. It is made by mars inc. On there website is confirms that they are not affected by this recall and do not have any issues with their dog food.
I have had the same experience as Aaron L … My 6 year old healthy boxer died April 6 from Kidney failure. He has been on dried pedigree since he was 8 weeks.. I also have 2 other dogs & am worried about them, maybe I should have them tested.
My boxer would have never gotten into anything toxic because he was never out only to use the bathroom or for a walk/run with me. We have small children, so there is never anything dangerous laying around…I’m wondering if I should change dog food brands or what I should.
Aaron L I feel your pain, I just wish we could have some answers!
I did have my other two dogs tested, their kidneys are fine but their PH level is 9 & are supposed to be 5/6 so that was caused from their diet (pedigree) they are almost moved over to a new much better food, I hope this helps someone.
I purchased a bag of pedigree dry food from Costco about a week ago (todays 2/18/2012). My chocolate labrador puppy is about 7 months old and I guess maybe she is too young for the food, or its poisoned because my german shephard won’t even touch it. I mean he smelled it and would rather starve.
Ever since, my puppies health has been deteriorating. Her eye oil glands are swollen very large, and shes starting to get serious blemishes on her face around the part of her mouth where she devoured bad food. I only put it together today as I was at a convention and my wife took her to the vet and he couldn’t think of a cause.
Of course Pedigree hides their phone number, so my only option to report is a web based email report system.
If my puppy dies, pedigree will be glad to know that I’m from a large family of lawyers, and I’m gonna be REALLY pissed off. Class action, bitches.
