It gave my dog skin problems. But a lot of people give it to dogs, so i suppose you could give it to yours as well, if you don’t mind regretting it later on.

I would look at higher quality foods than Pedigree, IMO…I use Merrick on all 6 of my dogs but there are plenty of good/premium foods out there to choose from.

Pedigree dog food is junk, its all filters, and corn. no meat what so ever. Try getting a higher quality food.

Dont give your dog Pedigree. It is a crappy crappy brand.

My dog was on Pedigree, didn’t even get threw a large bag. He started vomiting bile everywhere, he shit like 3 times a day, always had diarrhoea, always sleepy.

We talked to a variety of vets, and pet stores and they all agreed that Pedigree is like the McDonald’s of human food. None of them promote the brand even if they do sell it.

We switched his food and he has been fine since. No more vomiting, shits once a day, (the more nutrients int he food the less crap they have to get rid of), no more diarrhoea, and is back to his normal lifestyle.

Pedigree is not a nutritious dog food. Go for something more like Merrick, Wellness, Canidae.

If the dog works well on it and it’s the only food you’ve found that works, then it’s fine.

But, in general, it’s a very very low quality food. It’s got poor quality ‘meats’ and lots of allergens in it.

I would not feed it to my dog.

Natural Balance, Canidae, Evo, Innova, California Natural, Timberwolf, Pinnacle, Wellness – these are brands I would not hesistate to feed.

It’s Ok but what I really recommend is Purina Puppy Chow but yea Pedigree is great too.

Just my opinion, I’d use a better food than Pedigree. Science Diet is good, or Nutro Max.

We used to feed our dogs Pedigree dog food, but one of my dogs is allergic to it so we had to switch to Pro Plan.

But if your dog is fine with it, then go ahead and feed it to her.

Never use Science Diet, either. That is a very crappy brand. If your dog is ever sick, the vet will recommend Science Diet. Their Rx diets are Ok for some dogs who need them, but don’t get the regular Science Diet. Here is a website partly on Science Diet:

I feed the raw diet. It is the best you can feed most dogs. I suggest you look into it. Good luck with your dog!!!

Pedigree is like doggy McDonalds- not ideal but some dogs may handle it OK.

you should go to your vet and see what food is best for your type of dog. Sometimes they’ll tell you without charging you to be seen. They wont always tell you to buy their expensive dog foods that are all medically “better” if your breed of dog is mentioned on the back of the bag, or anywhere on the bag that’s good I’d try it. As long as you can get your dog to eat it and your dog seems healthy then your good. Yes pedigree is a type of dog food… it’s also more importantly the “family tree” type of thing in animals. As in if your dog has a pedigree your dog is full breed and is worth a lot of money
