If you don’t buy crappy food, your dog can’t eat it.

Buy a dog food that does not say *** Meat Meal *** on it… if it does say Meat Meal then you are poisoning your dog… And maybe he knows it and is refusing to eat it cause it is not sweet enough for him to eat past the poison.. ????

Well, your dog can only eat what you choose to give him. If you buy him one of the top quality foods and don’t give him anything else, he’ll eat it. Besides, when you switch a dog’s food, you need to do it gradually, over a period of 10 – 14 days so they don’t get diarrhea. During that time, dogs get used to, and usually prefer, the new food.

Try merricks. most dogs LOVE it.

He likes the crappy food becuase its like junk food to us. would you rather Pizza (or your favourite fast food) or would you rather a plate of nice steamed veggies? he chooses the pizza. just buy the good stuff and pretty much he will eat it eventually. a dog wont starve them selves. its tought love.

well, if he likes it keep getting it, or you can try to change it to his type, then u would be spending more money, some eggs and table veggies are fine,only give that to him at times other wise its dog food,

Buy good food.. Put it down for him and let him eat it.. He won’t starve to death, he’ll eat eventually.. Just cause he likes garbage doesn’t mean he should be eating it.. Don’t give him eggs and table scraps.. Just good quality healthy dog food.

dont buy the crapy dog food at all buy the good food and try as hard as u can to get him to eat it if he dosant than its his problem and he will finally eat if that dosnt work l dont know what to do.

Well, you know IAM’s is considered one of the ‘better’ brands,
and it was also on the recall list for tainted food. More money doesn’t always mean a better product. Just check the label and try to find a decent one where meat is the primary ingredient. My dog’s never liked the more expensive pet-store brands either, so I just settled on Pedigree and they have done quite well on it — both healthy and happy.

P.S. My parents alway fed their Chihuahua inexpensive canned food plus some table scraps and she lived to the ripe old age of 18.

sometimes mine is the same way. What I do is give her her normal food most of the time, but if she’s been really good I’ll give her a little of the awful food she loves so much. It seems to make her happy and she doesn’t crave it as much if I seem to humour her.
