You can share with her about ingredients in dog foods and teach her how to read the bag. Show her what is in Pedigree. In the end, it is up to her what she feeds her dog. Some just cannot afford to buy a better dog food and some do not have access to buy better dog foods. I just roll my eyes when I see someone in Walmart buying Ol’ Roy that in my opinion is the absolute worst crap out there. Pedigree is at least better than that!

Pedigree is like feeding her dog McDonalds. Super high fat and protien content … And their safety record is sloppy, they have recalls ALL THE TIME. Show her this!

You cannot nag your friend to feed anything different. You can try and educate her. You also need to ask yourself, “Is her dog really in need of a diet change?”. Look at her dog. Is it in good health. Does it have bright eyes and clean teeth? Is the skin clean, soft and supple? Is the dog in good weight? Is the dog alert and happy? If yes is the answer to these things than maybe leave this alone. She has her reasons for feeding pedigree and you have your reasons for feeding blue buffalo. A couple of her reasons for feeding thebrand that she does is that it’s inexpensive and available night and day in most areas. So be careful on this issue since she is your friend.

Why should she waste money & fall for ADVERTISING=LIES=just because you do?
Any decent dry adult feed is fine;so-called “premium” feeds are a scam.

What makes you think it is any of your business? Are the dogs dying from being fed pedigree? No, of course they aren’t…
I have never fed a dog on anything but pedigree or skinners or another ‘crap’ food, and also left overs and table scraps!!
Guess what, none of my dogs are sick and no dog of mine has ever had any problems with digestion.
Why do you even think she would want YOUR opinion about HER dog?

Buy a bag of Blue Buffalo or whatever quality kibble brand and give it to her to try.

You can’t FORCE her too, but, you could definitely try.
Show her facts & videos on pet food & why Pedigree shouldn’t be fed.

Her doggie’s coat probably has flakes due to she probably bathes it too often. No more than once a month is plenty.
As for what she feeds her dogs, it’s her business. Many dogs do very well on cheap stuff. My dogs have eaten Purina for over 20 years, and are very healthy, active, and fit. Never had any problems. We run our dogs for an hour or two a day.
What irritates the crap out of me is when someone promotes the more expensive dog food because it’s supposedly better, yet their dogs are fat, have more health issues than mine do, etc. I’ve had this happen more than once at the dog park. My dogs only see a vet once a year for shots and heartworm.
As for recalls, ALL dog kibble runs that risk. Yup, even Blue Buffalo has had problems.

I used to feed my dog pedigree dry food, and in her defence I thought it was good food because you think pedigree is a good honest name, but then you realise the meat content is 4% very bad! considering they are meant to be a leading brand!
I feed my dog wainrights now which is 29% meat better than pedigree
