Natural Dog food suggestion for overweight dog with cancer?
- admin in category: Dog food products
I’m looking for a high quality natural food for my overweight, high cholesterol beagle who just had mass cell cancer tumors removed. I have read it is better to have a no grain diet as grain/sugars feed cancer. However, with his high choloesterol and weight loss that is needed, I’m not sure a high protein diet will be good. Anyone have any suggestions?

I believe Orijen (owned by Champion Pet Foods) now makes a low-protien version of their high-quality, grain free food. You can find out more here: http://www.orijen.ca/orijen/about/

I feed my dog Nature’s Recipe
it’s a high protein and less a lot of unnecessary fillers, it’s venison and brown rice formula but I think they have one for weight loss as well.

I personally think grain free diet is the only way to go!!! I feed solid gold barking at the moon and my dog are in love! I am not sure the weight of your dog but my dogs are 95lb and I only feed 2 cups a day! they are both maintaining there weight if not gaining a little! I am planning on cutting them back a little!
It does look like both wellness core and EVO have a reduced fat that are grain free!
EVO is also good but it does cost more then the solid gold
Taste of the wild is a awesome food too! although I cant feed it because my dogs have an allergy to chicken!
Orijen also looks like a good food but no one carries that food where I live!
