its not the greatest, but its ok i guess.
Edit: Hey, Kev, canidae is awful. They started using a cheaper form of rice that are making dogs EVERYWHERE get sick. My dog got rashes on his feet and back and my friends dog started to get an upset stomach and started to vomit.
Never used it for my dogs we get puppy chow and they seem to like it.
It is good, my dogs it eat and they are healthy.
no i think this food is quit good for our puppy i tends to like it a lot better than any other dog food
yes its full of fillers like corn, dont get pedigree, dog chow, other grocery store foods
look at the label, meat like chicken should be #1, the first few ingedients on the list tells you the what the majority of the kibble is made of.
brands like diamond, canidae, timberwolf, solid gold are good.

It’s CRAP. Haven’t you read previous posts?
This will help
Low quality. Loads of common allergens and fillers.
Low Quality (generally):
Ok, so let’s break the first few ingredients down so that you can take it with you to the dog food store:
Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Small Crunchy Bites Dog Food
1st ingredient: Ground Whole Corn – Common allergen, cheap filler.
Meat And Bone Meal – Meal is fine, but you want the meat specified, like Chicken, Beef, or Salmon. “Meat” can be ANY meat, including roadkill, killed shelter animals, and sick cows unfit for human consumption.
Ground Wheat – common allergen and cheap filler
Corn Gluten Meal – ditto corn above.
Animal Fat – Unnamed animal. Bad.
Salt – why would a dog need salt? Much less as the 9th ingredient???
Chicken By-Product Meal – By products are the leftovers that are unfit for human consumption. Innards, dirty parts, etc. While it’s not supposed to include feathers, feet or fur, it’s been known to work it’s way into these low quality foods.
I use this page http://www.dogfoodproject.com/index.php?page=badingredients religiously to help me learn about ingredients. Print it out. Bring it with you.
Added: The new “natural” science diet foods are better than the original formula ones. But, in general, they are low quality.
What I’m trying to do by listing all these and giving you this link is to make you more able to do the homework on your own. You should do the research and take that knowledge and apply it.
Added II: You’ve been given the dogfoodanalysis site before – in fact, it was a Best Answer for your Nutrish question. Is the site not working?
use active care healthy joint formula (first try the sample bag-you’ll know why)
Not yelling, pedigree is garbage.
Our pets need quality food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. “Vet approved” means they have a vet on staff to approve their product. In other words, someone paid to approve it. Same with foods most vets recommend. Salesmen “gift” vets then the vet recommends the food. Most vets are not nutritionists! Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient Wellness, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. It’s okay. There’s better food.
Pedigree isn’t bad for your dog. I changed my dogs diet to Pedigree. They are really healthy. I think science diet is better because it is made by Scientists!
I have a dog with a digestive tract problem. The only thing he tolerates well is Blue Buffalo. I’ve been happy with the results and the vet considers him really healthy.
Pedigree, Purina, IAMS/Eukanuba, Science Diet are all low quality foods. They contain very little meat and are loaded with cheap fillers & by products.
You need to feed a good quality food such as Canidae, Solid Gold, Merrick, Innova, Chicken Soup, Premium Edge, California Natural, Taste of the Wild, just to name a few.
Look up Pedigree recall thousands of pets are dead hundreds are sick and on the verge of death. it’s colored pieces are obviously artificially colored
look up dog food ingredients to see what is in pet food
sick animals and euthanized pets just to name a few
