All this tainted dog food is certainly strange. Years ago I fed both my dogs Pedigree one lived till she was 12 and the other till 16 never any problems. In fact one never heard of tainted dog ever. I really wonder what is going on with pet food. I feed Canidae now and so far no problems. I always wonder what next.

Pedigree is junk even if it wasn’t recalled. I feed my dog California natural lamb and rice. It’s slowly baked at a low temp and only uses human-grade meats and grains that the whole family would feel confortable eating. If you simply switched to another crap food like Beneful or something, I highly reccomend Cali Natural. http://www.californianatural.com/
*Emily: HAHA I love that answer

naturally it would happen most dog foods are crap ESPECIALLY the ones your vet reccomends and the ones advertised on tv you do not want to know what they put in there trust me i read a list of ingredients i almost threw up. the prettiest ingredient they put in those dog foods are diseased farm animals that is as pretty as it will get the only reason meat is even an ingredient for those foods is cause farmers dont know what to do with desiesed animals so they give them to dog food companies. everything else is just too gross.
a name i throw out a lot is blue buffalo there are other healthy foods but they are harder to find and usually if you can find them they are a distance away so if you want to be healthy without the travel do some research on raw diet.
