And lastly, if your vet purports that chicken bones are the number one cause of deaths in dogs, over cancer and other diseases, then he doesn’t even have a grasp on his own profession (business) and you should find another vet immediately if not sooner.
@luckymeutube – that’s a common misconception and scare tactic. First of all, chicken bones (and all other bones) should only be fed RAW, never fed cooked in any way. Second, dogs have no issues what-so-ever, eating and digesting bones…it’s what they were designed by nature to eat, and we as humans have no business applying our own philosophies and sciences to animals that have done extremely well on their own for thousands upon thousands of years with no help from us.

- You should be feeding about 1.5 lbs per day (rough estimate), depending on your dog, age, activity level, health, etc. A chicken quarter is a great start, but has a good amount of bone, so you will need to add more meat for some meals.
