Pedigree, or any of their brands were not on recall. You can safely feed it. I can’t exactly remember the name of their manufacturing place, but it’s not Menu Foods.
However, I would suggest a higher quality food, as Pedigree is still crap. Innova, Orijen, Canidae, Wellness, Timberwolf Organics, Artemis and Eagle Pack are all good brands, none of which have been recalled.
I give this to all of my 3 Pitbulls and have had no problem. If you look it up online this is one of the safest foods for our dogs
i’m glad you asked. i actually don’t know where it is made but i do know it is made with the same ingedients used in the recalled foods. try something you can’t get at a grocery store. read labels, if it has wheat/wheat gluten or corn/corn gluten stay away. try foods with ingredients you have heard of before like chicken, chicken meal, turkey, turkey meal, lamb, lamb meal and so on. brands to try are Innova, Innova EVO, Chicken Soup for the dog lovers soul, Blue Buffalo, Timberwolf Organics, Wellness, Nature’s Variety. you will have no worries on any of those, i have tried them all and not only does my og love them but she is extremely health, according to the vet who has repeatedly offered to trade me his dog for mine;)
Pedigree is not on the list of recalled dog foods. If you would like to see which foods are, you can check out the link.
Pedigree is a Waltham product, I believe. To my knowledge it has not had any recalls. You can get a complete list of recalled foods at the FDA website or at nationalpetfoundation.com
Pedigree is made by Effem Inc. in Canada and has not had any recalls. Effem Foods (Thailand) Co, which makes Pedigree for Asia had had recalls in southeast Asia, Japan and other parts of east Asia.
pedigree is manufactured by MARS INC.
It is loaded with grains, and meat by-products (junk parts of animals that have little to no nutritional value) It is also loaded with preservatives. Commercial kibble and canned dog food are manufactured weeks, or sometimes months before they make it to the store shelves, then the label says they are good for another few months once purchased. If you would keep food for a long period of time you would place it in the refrigerator of freezer, otherwise it would spoil. Why would you feed your dog these types of foods? Look for refrigerated food, or better yet, make your own food at home. It looks expensive at first glance but take a closer look, dogs who receive higher quality food eat less. So your commercial kibble is less per serving but requires multiple servings to what is recommended to keep them satisfied. Not to mention there is extensive research that show high quality dog food is linked to longer healthier lives for the dogs. This boils down to less vet bills.
pedigree dog food is distributed by a company called mars, however i have not yet found where it is made at. i would not buy any dog food or dog treats made in china. i have 3 miniature dachshunds, all of them became sick. 2 are doing good, the third one is having liver function problems. he has been at the vet for 1 week now. the last bags of canine carry out treats i bought for my dogs they sniffed them and walked away. they do not sniff anything i give them . they take it right away and swallow it. they are little piggies. im done feeding my dogs dog food or treats. i will make their own food. they love carrots and green beans so these will be their new treats, much better for them anyway. i threw the dog treats away so not able to have them tested but they are made in china. allthough it will be challenging i want to be a made in america consumer.
It apparently is made in Great Britain: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedigree_Petfoods
