    pedigree

Of those?? NONE.. I wouldn’t feed my dogs any of those.

They’e all about equal, none is particularly high quality. All get 1 out of 6 stars on this site:

Edit: On 2nd look Pedigree isn’t listed, and some of the Purina products get 2 stars. I might use some of these as just an appetizer, but surely wouldn’t make it my dog’s entire diet.

    none Feed canadae or innova

Watch out! Your going to get it. Nobody on here likes those dog foods, lol. You really should feed a better food, those don’t have everything your dog really needs in them. But if that is all you can afford I would go with purina. Just check the ingredients, it needs to have lots of protein.

Any particular reason you need to feed wet food? Dry is better.

That said, Pedigree, Mighty Dog, Alpo and Purina are all pretty much garbage. Check out this website:

to see where those brands score.

Good rule of thumb is that if you can buy it at a grocery store or Wal*Mart, it’s pretty crappy food. Please consider switching to a better food. Your dog will be healthier if you do!

all are bad.. Pedigree might be the least bad..

the differences in dry food are greater than differences in canned.. as such if you were asking about which is the best DRY food.. I would have said they are all really really bad…
bad canned food isnt nearly as bad as bad dry food in other words…

That’s like asking if it’s better to eat Butter, Lard, or Crisco.

They’re all terrible foods that will make your dog very unhealthy.

Never feed anything you can find at a grocery store or Petsmart.

    Good dog food brands are:
Canidae, Innova Evo, Merrick, Artemis, Wellness, Chicken Soup, Timberwolf Organics, Professional, Health Extension, California Naturals, etc.

Oh blech. All of those are nasty. Just read the ingredients. Full of by-products, guar gum, wheat GLUTEN!, and hardly any meat at all, quite contrary to what the packages say and look like.

None of those are better than the other…they are all crappy.

Why not try something with actual meat in it?
I recommend Merrick dry and canned varieties:

My dogs LOVE the canned Turducken, WingALing, Working Dog Stew, and Wilderness Blend.
ALL good stuff…no nasty crap like those other brands.

Look for something better. And just because it’s high in protein doesn’t mean it’s good. A lot of companies add corn to increase the protein, but dogs can’t process the protein from corn. It probably does them more harm than good.

I would go to the local pet store (not petco but a small pet store) and ask them about dog food. The good stuff costs more, but it’s worth it.

    Pedigree

Most of these dog foods, are made by the same companies….just because the names are different doesn’t mean squat. If you really wanna feed your dog good food. Cook for them. Feed them what you eat. Add vitamins to their food. That is the only way to be sure you know what they are getting.

Of the three, Pedigree. Don’t be upset – the people saying this or that dog food is bad because of this or that are mimicking what they read on websites and books written by self appointed experts and based solely on opinion. All dog foods provide 100% of what a dog needs to thrive. They get these nutrients from different sources and some people have an emotional reaction to some. Many are just marketing gimmicks. Some are sold solely at pet stores/vets because profits are higher that way. That is all fine – if a person doesn’t like some ingredient in a dog food then there are plenty of other choices but it is for the person, not the dog. Get the one you are most comfortable with in the price range you can afford – it will not hurt your dog. Indeed, studies have shown that dogs fed on the cheaper dry brands have a significantly lower chance of intestinal cancers due to their increased fiber (what the ill informed call filler) content.

If it was friday and my dogs were out of food they would have to starve until monday before they got those foods…. I also dont recommend feeding your dog canned food at all unless there is a medical reason to do so. If you buy a quality kibble you will actually save money because you will feed less and it will last longer, even if the bag is more expensive initially.

None of them is good. I feed mine Evanger in addition to their dry dog food.

mighty dog and alpo are on the recall list both are disgusting foods. Under no circumstances would I feed my dog any of those foods. I would give him a happy meal!!

Canidae all life stages. It’s really affordable considering the quality.

8 bucks for an 5lb bag. not too expensive.
